- Cartier’s new releases at Watches and Wonders 2023 demonstrated yet again why it truly is the watchmaker of elegance. The Maison’s recent rise to take the number two spot in terms of global watch sales can be attributed to CEO Cyrille Vigneron’s deft touch in clarifying and distilling the vision for its entire collection.
Cartier has managed to achieve what many brands could not: continually appeal to a broad audience without diluting its rich heritage or losing its air of exclusivity.
In a roundtable discussion, Wei speaks with Cyrille and three other preeminent collectors of Cartier, Auro Montanari, Eric Ku, and Shary Rahman, on the timeless appeal of its watches and the enduring pursuit of longevity.

Interesting round table. Disappointed we couldn’t see the watches.
I thought the same way. I would have loved to see them.
@@LargeEnsemble did they forget we came for the watches!
I agree
Great job Wei, three heavy hitters and the CEO, I can't begin to imagine the amount of work it took to put it togethet. Well done sir
Can you please show the watches that are on the tray?
Absolutely loved this video!
What a thoroughly enjoyable video. As others have said it would have been nice to have had some B-roll ready with close ups of the watches as people talked about individual pieces, but enjoyable and informative nonetheless 👏👏
What's going on with your videos.... show the watches and up the production quality. Please....
Illuminating
Great Convo. Ludicrous that they didn’t show the watches. B Roll is crucial.
love this, this is how to discuss watches and build long term associations.
What a great collaboration of true watch collectors. Bravo
Love this
I do understand the reasons for not having the archives open
Great conversation! I love Cartier. I’d like to ask the CEO a question: When are they going to improve their website?
I love that Cartier bring these amazing watches to market, however, I think it’s a shame that every time a limited edition comes out, those few that have the connections take the entire collection.
Maybe it’s time to change that.
Why you not show US Watches! 😢
Interesting talk but where’s the watches ?
Cartier is a state of mind, italians know it better! : ))
Sad that George Cramer could not join this table 😔
I wonder which one was the one who scratched Wei's Cartier???
Not one of these guys
Why is Eric wearing those beads?
Chinese and is very fashionable right now
@@I_like_YT_lots Not sure how fashionable it is, but I've been wearing them every day for 20+ years.
@@ericku2499 religious reasons? If not it was very fashionable 20+ yrs ago.. Especially in HK
@@ericku2499 Wow -- Thanks for responding! They are not my taste, but I'm glad you like them and stuck with them.
It’s to bad no one dares to tell them they keep ruining the reissues. To big and those sunburst dials are not classy and timeless.
Trying to market manipulate?
Couldn't be further from the truth. Auro and I have been collecting Cartier for years, and neither of us have a profit motive. I've never sold any of my Cartiers and I think Auro may have moved a few only when he has gotten a better example. Just because the market has now embraced what we've known for years doesn't mean there is any market manipulation going on.
😁😁😁 Great market manipulators, when the vintage Rolex market had tried up lets find a brand that a few years ago destroys their own watches due to lack of sales and with the rumour of Richemont bought up Watchfinder to acquire 2nd hand Cartiers to destroy them to reduce 2nd hand supply; as we all know you should never buy a new Cartier when they used to lose at least 50% of its value in grey.
Not seeing the watches made this vid suck👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽
Cartier is on it's way to become the next hype brand. Unfortunate. Now all these pieces that were readily available will become impossible. People cannot tell me that there isn't market manipulation here.
However, with that being said, I appreciate hearing true collectors and enthusiasts such as Auro Montanari himself. The GOAT of the watch world and the real Cartier collector.
They are trying to be
